Hi, my name is Aisyah Rozi. This is my personal blog where I share my life experience, thoughts, ideas and occasionally, my projects. Recently, however, I share a lot about being a young mother. I'm also a YouTuber, so do checkout my channel! <3

Selamat Hari Raya!!

So, this year’s raya. Where do I begin?

Firstly, it’s my first Eid without my family, ever. Kinda pathetic to finally being independent at 21. I mean, 22. (Syhh)

Secondly, it’s also my first Eid as a married woman. and my husband is not here.

Anyway, I’ve decided to ditch my assignments to celebrate Raya so that I won’t hate myself later by being so pathetic when I log in to social sites and see all these people celebrating raya with their family, in their fancy baju raya eating fancy raya dishes. *insert envious face here*

On the eave of Eidulfitri, only Farah and I was at home. So we started cooking lamb rendang, popiah, onde-onde, cupcakes and.. nasi ketupat. Farah had her boyfriend over to come help us with it. We had some good time cooking while listening to Eid songs and takbir (which we never intentionally do in Malaysia) and seeing all these posts about raya do helped me feel the all these raya vibes.

a week of awesomeness

It’s been ages since I logon to this blog and seeing all the comments, I was wondering what was my last post about?  By this post, it also means that I’m getting more sane. Guess what?! My mood is revived now that my husband came to visit me for a week!

So, what did we do? ehem ehem. *clears throat* yes, that. AND much more! 😀

#Day 1 : Arrival

Oh, funny story about his arrival. I wanted to pick him up at Southern Cross Station but that would mean skipping my class, so he told me he will call me instead. I was expecting his call atleast by 10am but 11am, and there was still nothing. Worried, I went to Southern Cross Station all the way from my class (at Melbourne uni) to wait for him but he was nowhere at sight. Feeling more anxious I called up AirAsia to enquire about the flight (HAHA) when suddenly I got a call in and it was him. He told me he was already in Uni! haha. I was relieved but also felt like slapping myself for going all the way to the station and lost 30mins worth of time I could already be seeing him!

Anyway, I was really glad I saw him. We went back to my place, I let him rest and that night we had sushi for dinner. That night we were staying over at a senior’s house who’ve kindly let us stay in their house while they go out on a vacation.

#Day 2 : Walk in Museum

I must say that we’re both fan of museums and I purposely didn’t go to the museum just so I could go there for the first time, with him eventhough it’s free for students. Now, we were impressed  with the lengths they went through to make the museums look as cool as possible!

Most of the the things in museum were about the history of Australia, which were very interesting. I could go on and on about what’s in the museum but let’s not make this post super long. I highly recommend you checking out the museum if you’re in Melbourne though.

That is one scary fish! It’s not real though, but it looks like it, right??

Impressive digital vending machine. :p

Funny thing is when we went to the museum, they were having an antic art show for $34 while it was supposed to be free for students. So out of frustration, we walked out until we realized we went into the wrong building! And it was right next to the Melbourne museum. I knew how the museum looked like but I guess I was too early in the morning and I was still in slumber. Hahaha.

City stroll

So, this week has been slow, but fun. Took a break from house hunting and went to Kak Wani’s house somewhere in Clayton last Sunday. She organised a lunch to gather all the students that just arrived.

Train ride, yeay!

The weather was sunny, but the wind really helped to make it feel a little chilly

Later that night, we took a random walk to Flinders st and along yarra river. We had a daily ticket for the tram and train earlier, so we took the tram.

Stopped by at Swanston st. to get some fries and burger before walking to Flinders st.

Look at that! soo sinfully yummy!

new year, newfound resolution.

My sister Arina was bugging me to attend this Southern gathering, organized by Ausis. I was really hesitant to go simply because I didn’t know what to expect. It sounds bad, but it’s true. However, I pulled it together and went ahead, hoping to find something, if not something good, perhaps just a little bit of fun.

The last few days (maybe 2 weeks) before  I was so stressed up. It was mostly related to my decision of going to Australia without my Eddie and worrying about how it’s going to change my life. I was mostly worried that it might change me for the worse, without family around to guide me and keep me in the right path. I didn’t even know whether I can be better, because I don’t know how to be better on my own. So I thought.

Nonetheless, the program made me change my intention of going to Aussie, to a much better intention. And surprisingly, I felt calmer, and happier. In fact, I feel very excited. My intention now is to not only study in Australia but also, to find something that I might not able to find in Malaysia. I hope to find hidayah from Allah. If I don’t find it there, it should be a start of something.

I’m going to be 22 in 8 months, and I’m married. I have to change now if we were to start a family. It will happen sooner or later, and I would never want to bear a child when I don’t have taqwa. I used to be afraid to have taqwa, and actually I’ve always rejected the idea before. But then I realized that, when you have Allah, you’ll have everything because Allah determines EVERYTHING. He can give you the world and take it back in a blink. So, actually, I don’t know what I was afraid of.

Anyway, I’m very thankful that I attended the gathering. It was very profound. I had a lot of fun and met a lot of awesome cool people. Although the 3 days was short, and I felt like going home on the first night (had to sleep on a bunk bed with 7 other girls in a room and all that, yeah) but it was so much fun knowing them, they are beautiful, super nice people and super friendly. I’m just in love with the people I’ve just met. That, rarely happen, ladies and gentlemen.

So, here are some of them…

We are THE amazing people who won the amazing race! woot! hoho.

 In UIA mosque. Beautiful.

In front of UIA mosque yang tak berapa nampak thanks to backlight.

I haven’t known them for long, but I’m already missing them. Weird. Really looking forward to see them again …in Aussie (or maybe NZ, too?) InsyaAllah.

oh yeah, btw, do check out my garage sale at WonderDress.blogspot.com

p.s, also, trying to not swear too much. Bad habit. Eddie’s into it too. InsyaAllah.
