Ladies are Tough, Too

I just got back from the clinic. I waited for damn 40 minutes for my turn. There were quite a lot of patients. Oh well, I came at peak hours, so it is expected.

As I was waiting for my turn, I saw 2 pregnant moms and some other young moms with their small cute hobbits. I saw them (the moms) talking to each other about their kids, when they were born, how many kids they have and such. And some of the kids even played with each other. It was a peaceful sight.

I can NOT imagine myself being a mother. How will I treat my kids? what kind of mother will I be? I don’t know. Or at least, not for now. I still have a loong way to go. hehe. Anyway, what I saw just now, made me think. I’ve seen so many people (guys, actually) saying that,

Wanita kaum yang lemah
Women are weak

Hell, I disagree.

Sure, women are physically weak compared to guys. If women are weak, why the hell do you think that god gives the women the ability to breed? I’m sure that all of you know that giving birth is like a war of life and death.

Giving birth is just the beginning. Not to mention the 2 months of bleeding afterwards. Don’t get me started on PMS. Breast swelling, feeling tired, acne, headache, backache, muscle cramps, anxiety, depression and mood swings. Some of you guys might say that “Nah, even us guys can deal with all that.” Now, how about having those for a week EVERY month? Oh, the price we pay for being able to breed.

We, women are given such great patience that triumphs our ‘weak’ physical. Well, at least, as physically weak as us might be, we can survive parturition. Furthermore, there are more and more girls who learn self defense -and use it! So, never underestimate us.

I have a lot more to say, but that’s all for now. The doctor said that I should stay away from the computer. Funny, I didn’t realize that I was having a fever all these while.

Doctor: Hi, how may I help you? :)
Me: I have a sore throat. but I don’t know if I have a fever.
Doctor: I see, let me take your temperature reading
Me: ok
Doctor: Yes, you do have a fever.
Me: oh?

My temperature is 38.5oC, I have a sore throat, normal blood pressure, normal lungs.

Earlier this morning, my mum said that I could have a fever. But I denied it cause I felt healthy except for the sore throat and headache. But then when she touched me, she said, “oh dear, you have a fever,”

How come I didn’t realize that I caught a fever???

Well, one of the signs of getting a fever they say is when you feel aches. As for the sore throat, it feels very dry. As for flu, either cough or running nose comes then the other follows after.

So far when I’m sick, I’m really sick and I hate it when that happens. Feel awful and don’t want to feel happy. :P

Anyway, Aisyah…did you get my email? I need your reply quite urgently on it. If you haven’t received it, please email me. Thanks.

  11. Aisyah May 1st, 2008 at 12:06 am

it’s just that, I felt fine and I wasn’t feeling as sick.

usually, if my whole family got infected, I would be the last person to get infected. in most cases, I don’t get a fever at all. I’m one of those lucky kids who rarely fall sick. :)

maybe that’s why I didn’t expect it. haha. and oh, I got your email and I just replied.

istilah ‘perempuan kaum lemah’ ni mcm da tak relevan da skang.. dulu mungkin la sbb pompuan melayu lebih lembut & sopan santun (skang bukan’nya tak, tp dulu lebihhh..)

dan siapa dulu nak sembang pasal pms, breast swelling (mende ni?), proses peritnya melahirkan anak apa semua secara terbuka? so, orang ‘luar’ lingkungan perempuan kurang tahu betapa kuatnya seorang perempuan nak lawan/tahan semua tu..

Women may be physically weak, but mentally.. phoar. We rock (most of the time)

dead and happy? Is that even possible? I doubt that. and oh, I’ll try to translate it as good and as accurate as possible.

This pretty girl is 18 years old and makes money by making custom design. She has shown me a mock up for her client and I’m very much attracted to her the design. When I asked her how much is she charging, she said, secret. That’s okay, at least she’s making money online. (hm… I wonder if she’s still single. LOL!)

so yeah, that’s the direct translation. I suck at translating.

and yeah, women rock! *jumps and dances* It pisses me off too, when a guy says that.

I’m not quite sure if it’s a phase I’m going through. Just yesterday at Hallmark I picked up a Happy Birthday Card for a Niece. Part of me wants a kid or a niece. *sigh* =(

it’s incredulous that women in some parts of the world still have to fight for basic human rights against gender discrimination. a large number of men really believe women to be unequal and undeserving of the same rights as them.

when actually they should be the ones feeling inferior! try carrying around a baby for nine months plus and then go through the absolute pain that is labour and THEN we’ll talk about equal rights pfft.

No offense, but you made it sounds like just because women are the only sex that CAN deliver babies, it means they have more patience ? Its not guys dont want to or have no patience in delivering babies, its because we simply logically and medically can’t do that.. you’re judging us for something we cant do ?

No offense, but you made it sounds like just because women are the only sex that CAN deliver babies, it means they have more patience ?

Just because? now, go to your mum and ask her how painful it was to bring you into the world. not to mention the 9 months of carrying a 3.5kg load. Try to put that much load on your stomach and carry it around for 9 months. no break time allowed.

Did you know why Allah gave the women the ability to breed? it’s because the guys do not have patience and strength to endure the pain. I don’t quite remember but I know I heard it from an ustaz when I was in sekolah Agama. There must be a reason why god gave the breeding job to the women.

and about that joke about female drivers. come on, even guys do that too. when it comes to drivers in KL, male or female, no difference. all become mad drivers. I know, I’ve been to KL a lot of times, by CAR.

Hey, think i’m that dumb not to know that ke ?

So ? whats your point ? because women carries babies, they have more patience than men ? Its like a cancer patient saying “aku lagi tabah mentally dari orang yg tak dpt cancer sebab aku ade cancer”.. totally BS..

Hey, men are not superior than women, no doubt (to those who said kaum perempuan lemah, to hell with them) - the same goes to you too aisyah, women does not have more patience than men.. When you said that, you are simply the same as the people you are pissed off on (the poeple who said bad things about women)..

I’m not looking down on women. I believe that women is physically weaker than men (as prooven and agreed by aisyah), that’s all. Nothing more, nothing less.

You guys are sure ‘warm’ in welcoming contrasting opinions eh.. You guys think only gender is the factor for everything ke ? sebab dia laki, dia superior ? sebab dia perempuan, dia ade more patience ? open your mind la..

    Btw, not offended at all.

to NH, when i saw 2 words from you which are “sekolah agame” and “stereotype”, didn’t bother the rest. you’re the one who is stereotype. why ?
    1) can’t accept contrasting opinions
    2) Gets personal for stuff such as these.
    3) what does a school have to do with anything. how do you like it if i say “you suck at designning, sia2 je masuk sekolah ko (whatever la skolah ko pun)” - doesn’t sound nice and mature isn’t it ?

This blog has no room for you or your ego. If you disagree on something don’t put it bluntly, no-mouth-brain filter, what-you-think-is-alway-right-attitude. Craft your words carefully and try not to be one PIA.

    1. I can accept any opinion as long as its not religiously RUDE.
    2. Sorry for that, I take back my words.
    3. Again sorry for that. BTW, I never went to a designing school. I’m an engineering graduate.
    4. I shall refrain to further improvise my explanation. Because if I do, you’ll look silly. Certainly you dont want your ego to go down do you?

ps: Bro, Aisyah puts things in neutral gear, you put it to back to reverse and crashed the tree.
pss: Again Ikram, I’m sorry for my harsh statement & personal attack and I hope Aisyah will remove my previous comment.

Ikram, I don’t care that you disagree that women dont have more patience. maybe you are unlucky enough to always be around women that don’t have that much patience. and I’m sorry for that.

I think sometimes, you should swallow your pride and admit that males are weaker. (not physically, though). Look at those powerful successful men. there’s always a woman behind their success. the first people they thank for their success are their wives. women give men strength. that’s my opinion. and that’s the fucking truth. like NoktahHitam said, grow up. think before you speak.

You guys think only gender is the factor for everything ke ? sebab dia laki, dia superior ? sebab dia perempuan, dia ade more patience ? open your mind la..

where the hell did you get this? about the ‘warm’welcome… when it comes to gender discrimination, (in your first comment, you sounded like you were discriminating women) people can get very nasty. same goes for racism. plus, there are a lot of gentlemen who actually respect ladies here. so when there are people who look down to women, they get nasty.

    yo,

whats up guys? About the “war” thing chill out this is not a war at all, nothing wrong with arguing or debating, I think ikram got a point there. He obviously got somethin inside so let him has it. Disagreeing with his point doesn’t mean war either, enlighten him instead of mocking him.

As for myself, I am not disagreeing neither do I agree with what Aisyah has written. I myself took women studies class last summer and learn a lot about women including what mentioned here.

Extra comment about weak, when we said weak it depends. The descriptions or meanings of it varied; could be weak in strength, emotion, motivation, desire, lust or anything. Everyone regardless of genders have weaknesses. So it comes down to which type of weak and would that “weak” be an advantage or disadvantage for particular individuals.

neway, it seems like no matter what our talented Aisyah wrote it will hit hundreds view in a day and plentiful comments in no time. Good stuff on that Aisyah :)

if there’s something in him, it’s ego. and no one likes ego. like NH already said, even if he disagrees, he shouldn’t put it bluntly.

neway, it seems like no matter what our talented Aisyah wrote it will hit hundreds view in a day and plentiful comments in no time.

I take that as a compliment. thank you. :)

it could be that too. Who knows. I recall back when I was 18 yol (male ok tho usually females are abit mature given same age), maybe if I were him, I would respond, comment or anything just like him. Keep that in mind before anything. And please this ain’t forum. Please no “war” guys!

I am not saying this to you specifically Aisyah but to others, instead replying “his way”, enlighten him “your way”. Work it out if you can’t fight it; if any of us know what I am talking about.. ;)

I totally cannot agree with women being lemah. I’ve never actually heard of that before. I guess I should’ve paid more attention in my Malay class. HAHAHA.

I can’t imagine myself being a mother either. I hate children. I don’t find them cute at all. They’re all annoying little twits. HAHAHA. I’ll probably change my mind when I hit my 30s, but for now I really cannot see myself with kids.

NINETY FIVE COMMENTS. WOW. WOW. WOW.

Women are DEFINITELY not weak! I sometimes think being a man would be so much more easier than being a woman *sigh* all the troubles we face.

I’m sorry about the fever =( Sometimes, I get a fever too without noticing it xD

Whoa.. What’s happening here? I read everything from top to the bottom and I think.. I think.. I should stay out of this. *runs away* :))

I’ve had the same thought before too. Sure, I do love kids. But then, I’m not really fond of those naughty ones coz I had been pinched and spanked by one of them. Lol. Anyway, I do not think women are weak. That’s such a cliché. I remember during my last lab practical. We were supposed to do vein puncture on our friend to draw some blood and none of the guys had the guts to do it. Last2, perempuan gak yg buat. Haha. Eh, this definitely has nothing to do with weakness kan. Silly me.

Anyway, congrats on being listed! And you’re only 18! Wow. :cheer:

Er…why all the hostility towards that ikram guy? I think he has a fair point.

What he said about the cancer patient and pregnancies is…spot on.

I think all of this problem is the product of stereotyping people. While I do agree that there are some tough women out there (have you seen Serena William’s arm?, you can’t just simply say that all women are tough. Some women love pregnancy and kids. Some just crumble under the pressure (Britney Spears anyone? Well, she does have some other problems) Just like men are. While some guys are brave, there are guys who are downright cowards. Just like there are single mothers, there are single fathers.

Sometimes, I do think some girls take their feminism streak a bit too far (not accusing anyone here!).

But, not in anyway should anyone take this blog post THAT seriously. I mean, it’s Aisyah! :p
