You know you are stressed when your mind is so stuffy that you can’t think and suddenly you realised that your desk is a mess.

I’m not sure about you but that is what happening to me.

hairdryers and hair iron

I mean, what the hell are those shit doing on the floor? My hairdryers -both of them, and my hair straightener which I hardly use.

And those bags are not supposed to be there -my shoes as well. And oh, what’s worse? This is the time when you wish that you had a dslr. Or at least a digicam. Not a broken digicam. Or a crappy camera phone.

Actually, I’m working on a portfolio to get accepted into college. I’m going to The One Academy college. I hope I’ll get accepted. I discussed this matter with my parents and they didn’t mind if I wanted to go into college and take arts just as long as I’ll be the best at it. And serious.

My mum won’t let me get into LimKokWing due two reasons; it’s far from home and I might have to rent a place, which concerns her. Other than it requires more expenses. Second, her friend (which is a lecturer too) didn’t recommend that place. Also, the fees are freaking expensive! TOA is expensive too. But not as expensive as LKW. Almost.

So, why am I choosing this college? The graduates of this college are now sucessful people. Some of them are working internationally, some got contracts with Disney and Pixar. How cool is that? One of the graduates is now a team leader of graphics designer of IKEA. I’m sooo going to steal her job. Watch out! :)) Plus, their students’ artworks are much better compared to Sunway college. I’m not sure about LimKokWing. But I heard, their students’ artworks are amazing too and I’ve seen some. PJCAD sounds nice too but it’s still pretty new so I’d go for TOA. Since a lot of money will be invested, the end results ought to be worth it, shouldn’t it?

Public college/unis are packed with Malays and Malays are Malays. (I’m not being stereotypical here, I’m a Malay too!) Hence, the reason why my parents suddenly let me get into a private college is that they want me to compete with variety of people of different standards and gain more exposure so that I will be very well-prepared for the though world. Which is a good thing and I couldn’t agree more. And being a risk taker, I take that challenge. Altho I’m a bit shaky about it but I ~~hope~~ know I can do it. (Think positive, Aisyah! Think positive!)

Me: Aww.. thanks, mom.

This post is getting a bit long. Now that I’ve had my room cleaned, and my desk cleared a bit, please excuse me, I’m going back to my portfolio. :)

UPDATE: I changed to my first layout. I personally like this layout better. Don’t worry, this is just temporary. I hope.

I thought my room was in a state haha. My bed are full of books that I’m currently studying with and my desk is loaded as well. Thanks to my lovely sister who cleaned my mess last night. Woo!

Good luck with getting accepted to the college. I’m sure you would anyways and you’ll be great at it. My parents are not fond of public Universities as well. When I chose to do law I thought I would be doing it at the University, instead the picked out a private school which costs loads of dollars. Maybe they don’t mind spending that much money behind me.

Oh! I see you cleaned up your room. My room can’t stay clean for more than a few days. My books are always scattered everywhere.

Good luck with your portfolio!! Wow, that’s awesome about those graduates getting jobs at Disney and Pixar! Too bad that I HATE graphics! LOL, since I’m a Computer Science major, graphics is DEFINITELY harder than it looks! LOL, graphics isn’t my area… =P GOOD LUCK, though!!

As much like Mohd Ismail said, your desk hints an artful owner. I love to draw too, but not manga kind of art. Im more into lines, and lines. With dimensions all over it.

If you can afford to study overseas - do it. Art colleges here are mostly bloodsucking whores, in the money sense. :P

Besides, what’s the point of learning stuff in syllabus that you won’t even use in a real life working scenario. So choose the course wisely and find out where other students are after graduating.

p.s: Don’t let them tell you the ones who made it in NY and etc. Ask about the others.

I stay home all day, and I too get very stressed. Then I feel guilty for feeling stressed, as I really have nothing to feel stressed about. But something that especially stresses me out, is when my room is messy. Honestly, I can’t stand mess. Whenever something is messy in my room, such as my desk or my bed or the chair in the corner, I feel like the mess takes over my brain and I can’t think. I also can’t stand dust, but that’s another thing :P haha. Dust on the floor is worst.

I would love to be an artist full-time, but I don’t think I have what it takes. I’m sure you would be a wonderful artist, though (you already are), and taking art in college would teach you so many things! It sounds like a really good college, too, which is always a good thing :)

tempat hostel khai ni (desariavilla.com), sewa sbulan rm600 kalau master room duduk sorang2.. tapi kalau ade 2 bijik orang, sorang rm350+ jew.. ade bus hari hari jemput hantar balik college lagi..

I can’t stand being messy. If my desk feels cluttered, I feel uncomfortable. You have such a cute desk though. I love it.

oh dear Aisyah, I guess its understandable that your room is all a mess, especially as you’re working hard on yor portfolio and getting into college. Hopefully it all goes well for you and you do get into where you want.
Maybe then you can clean your room and declutter your desk!

i do agree with ur mum… limkokwing is good, but you will be pretty much later ‘bengkok’wing with hutang n everything cuz the fees are very potong kapla punya rate.
aih… although… a few of my fwens (who took fashion in LKW) claims that LKW have better prospect when you have graduated later onwards.

my best advice to u… u have to de’clutter’ ur room first. get it cleaned up… baru u leh wat wise decision ble bilik u kemas.

im sure either selection will do you good.

i won’t say the first and second pictures to be messy, but the third one.. aiyaa… haha… but i do understand well by looking at your pictures… there’s probably no art ppl not messy when doing jobs.

whatever it was, goodluck in your future college. Limkokwing would be great. U can meet artists studying there, can meet khai, and so on. Life would be enjoyable. But TOA too, would be the great choice.

It’s not great college determine your future, but skill, passion in working, will get you into success.

Jabed: I didnt copy his layout. sure, i admit, it is inspired by his layout. the layout looks similar because of some effects. Anyway, I am planning of changing my layout soon cause I hate the lack of originality but I dont have the time to do so, at the moment, not until next week. *sigh*

uhuhu… like me, i’ll stick with this: no matter u compete with whoever in college or university. that’s a healthy competition. But what does matter is when u’re outside the “study-life”, u’re gonna face all the REAL-Competition without winners and losers.
