I Want To Be a Millionaire.

900 views

A teenage millonaire. Well, I never thought that it was actually possible for a teenager to become a millionaire without having Bill Gates for a dad.
It was that day when I found this book: How to be a teenage millionaire.

How to be a teenage millionaire.

The cover of this book is not really that catchy. My guess is that the cover was designed to make people say, whoaaa! but it didn’t happen to me. I was like, naaah. and when the title actually registered into my mind, then only I said, whoooaaaa!
It has a lot of useful tips on how to generate ideas and they are focusing more on how to make the most of your talents. What attracts my attention is that being an entrepenur entreepenur entrepreneur. (See, I have trouble spelling that word) Or, shall I say, entrepen-aire. When I was a child, I did think that one day I could be an entrepreneur. Once. :))

The myth has it that you have to be old to be a millionaire and that’s clearly not true. Proofs: Daniel Radcliffe and the Olsen twins. (Heck, they are not even entrepreneurs. Ok, maybe the Olsens.) I’m probably on my way to become a millionaire if I had read this book a lot earlier. :)) This book inspires me. Young age is definitely a bonus. You will have more time to enjoy the luxury. Young and rich. Perfect combination. :)

It says there that to be an entrepreneur, you have to have that gene and that includes:

  1. Goal Power
  2. Success specs - the ability to think big and ahead
  3. A mule mind - the ability to remotivate yourseld
  4. Sicko status - can you keep going even when you are sick?
  5. The ability to stay calm
  6. Funny bone
  7. An Inner Hero - optimistic
  8. Creative juices
  9. Ears for it - for e.g, able to focus to a conversation and listen to the whole thing
  10. An eye for it - able to deal with small things and concentrate on important things
  11. Keeping it real
  12. Enthusing it or losing it - can you keep the excitement going?
  13. Tounge talent - Able to persuade and influence people
  14. Energy vibes - When you walk in the room and people notice you, you got it ;)

Your entrepreneur gene may show itself when you were at a very young age. When it shows, it’s more likely that you are capable of being an entrepreneur in the future. But if you don’t have one, you can always get it. ;)

So, I asked myself. Do I have this gene? None of my parents are entrepreneurs and for as far as I know, none of my grandparents are one. Is it even possible that I have this gene?

Looking back in the past, I’m glad to say that I have done something to earn money by myself. When I was nine, I was very interested in stickers. (Bear in mind, I was 9!). And I’ve always liked earning money. So, every Wednesday, I bought some stickers and sell them individually to my friends and the price was based on the size of the stickers! :)) I went home with lots of coins in my hand. I bought 1 set of stickers for just rm1 and I got home with 2 to 3 times the cost.

Last time I’d ever sell stuffs to people was a few months ago at school. It was a very last minute decision. There was an open day at school where the parents come to school to meet the teachers and talk about the students’ performances. I was broke at that time. So I thought, why not sell some muffins on that day? That very night I went to the supermarket and bought the ingredients. I baked them till 2am in the morning! I didn’t make much because I was afraid that I couldn’t sell them all. To my surprise, the muffin business turned out extremely well. All of my muffins were sold out in the first 2 hours! Some of them even came back to buy some more! :cheer: Yay! They liked my muffins. I was actually quite scared that I’d get caught for selling those muffins without the teacher’s permission. :secret: I even set out a table and a chair to sit comfortably! But the head prefect said it was OK. :hehe: I paid back the modal cost to my dad and kept the profit. But then, my dad returned back the modal cost to me and said, this is the gift for your hard work, I’m proud of you. :)
So, yay! I got extra RM50 in my wallet! :cheer:

I don’t really remember what I did when I was a child so I need to ask someone with ultra vision, super hearing, and 100-tasks-done-in-a-sec person. No, it’s not the superman. It’s my mum.

Me: Mum, do you think that I have that entrepreneur gene?
Mum: yes :)
Me: Oh really? why? 8-)
Mum: well, it’s because you had always tried to earn money by yourself since you were a kid. You put up ads in the house for massage, you sell stuffs to me and dad and your siblings. So yeah, I think you do have that gene.

Well, actually she was the one who said that there is no entrepreneur gene in this family. and now, she said that?

wow. I can’t believe I actually do have that gene. Now, all I need is some idea. :hehe: I don’t know if I’m going to be an entrepreneur but if I could come up with a brilliant idea, I’d go for it. but one thing for sure, I LOVE living large and I want to be a millionaire. (well, who doesn’t?) or at least, marry one. :blush: :hehe:

So, do you have the entrepreneur gene? Tell me your stories; I’d love to hear them. ;)

    hehe.. thanks. you seem so confident that I’ll become a millionaire one day. hehe. after I reach my first mil, I can treat you more than that lah. but if that’s what you prefer, what choice do I have? I can reserve more money for my dream car. or house. :hehe:

    @Syml:
    Oh yeah? It’s good to hear that. and thanks for sharing your story here. It’s pretty interesting and not to mention quite impressive. esp the part when you crack the software. i don’t think I get you. but, when you crack the software, what do you turn it into?
    and if we were to set up a company. it is ME who should be the boss. I’m more of a leader, not a follower. :))

    @Fuad:

    @Jenz:

    Theres endless possibilities.

    Ive heard some pasar malam guy bought the latest BMW 7 series after being in business for 10 years. So whats your take? Just strive to be better, even if you dont achieve a millionaire status, getting half way there is already enough to make everyone proud. ;)
