Still Life Drawings Aisyahrozi. -”I think I’m a shopaholic. Help.”

I had a drawing exam today. I was quite confident that I could do it since I practiced a bit last night. I especially need to practice more on drawing metals. Just now, when we came into the drawing class, we saw the usual stuffs that we had to draw on the tables. Champagne bottles, wine glasses, kettles, plastic flowers, vases, cups, plates, and then… we saw pineapples. One on each of the table. Pineapples. I mean, PINEAPPLE! How do you draw a pineapple? A good one will probably take forever and we were given only 4 hours to get it done and it MUST be a finished one or we can never get an A.

The exam started at 3pm, and it was supposed to end at 7pm. However, half and hour before 7pm, the lecturer suddenly said that we can extend our time til…. we finish. So, I finished mine around 8.15pm and there were only 5 other students in the class with me and we left the class together.

This is what I did in my examination today. OK la. The background cloth was done in a rush. I hate it.

This is the second completed still life drawing I’ve done in class. This one is.. not bad.

This is the first finished still life drawing. not too bad.

Actually, my very first still life drawing I’ve ever did was during my UITM interview. and, during the first drawing class, the lecturer asked us to do a drawing -to measure our standard and that was the second. So, the one I did today was the 5th drawing in my life, and the 3rd since I’ve started learning.

Some of my classmates are doing better than me, like Yohji and Shurong. I haven’t seen the rest , though. But I bet there are some who are equally as good or better than me. oh well.

I may not be one of the best, yet but I’m proud for I have improved, even if it’s just a tiny bit of improvement.

Next week we are going to learn using charcoal. weee!

waaah.. aisyah. macam fotostat. siap ade reflection yg cool gitu. tp, mungkin dah di-distort dengan retina aisyah. hik hik. so, jadi la lukisan tangan aisyah dan diterima oleh lecturer nya. huhu. nice aisyah! :D. kalu tak, mesti lecturer aisyah kata “you used camera and printed it just now, right?”. :D

macam gune filter photocopy in photoshop. (ok.something neww.)
i wud have done the photoshop way to do dat.

its your 5th drawing, but its look almost real.

Well done Aisyah, it doesn’t matter what other people around you are doing as long as you’re improving and you’re happy with what you’ve done.

hmm..design skool, still life drawing. its a part of ur life. want a tip, buy a packet of a4 paper, make one sketch b4 sleep everyday…in the end of the day, u will get thousan of sketches and what to do?sell it..hahah..

I wish I could do that 1% of the work you’ve done :) great, marvelous works, Aisyah! And thank you so much for sharing them… I’m never good at drawing (except for stick figures) and I can only stare at your works of art with great awe :D I love the ones with that round, spherical vase with a reflective surface, and I like it when you drew the warped patterns of the tablecloth in it… I’m speechless!

wooow. your really good at pencil drawings! I really hope you get an A!
I get my results for my art GCSE next month. I should post a picture of mine.. :P

Pineapples are so HARD to draw! Because they have wierd cones all over them, and its really hard to get the lighting right and the 3D-ness of it.
Wow.. charcoal?! Thats one media ive never thought to use! :o I forgot about its existance! lol
