Let the sketch do the talking
Colouring. I feel like I’m a kid, again.

2 of 4 pieces. Don’t ask me about the colours, I just follow the instructions.
Some colouring.
It’s actually Fad’s friend favour. It was supposed to be HIS job but for some reasons, he handed it to me. Pfft. He’s a photographer, what does that has anything to do with colouring drawings in Illustrator? I was secretly laughing as I received the drawings from him.
Anyways, I had fun. Thanks, for handing this project to me. :D
Let the sketch do the talking (or blogging?)
So, here’s the actual subject. I’m not going to rant about how things are but the quick sketch below will do.

hmm….
Try figure it out. Feel free to ask any questions
ps, I’m actually quite embarrassed to post this sketch because, as you can see, the sketch is not really a good one. I need to practice a lot more. And, I suck at perspectives too.
EDIT: I missed out Architecture. It should go below graphics. hehe.

Have something to say? Come on, don't be shy. Just say it out loud!
sy recommend.. SPM > Matrics > Degree
*dan, tertanya2 gak, nape dentistry tu terselit lak kat hujung2? ade minat mau jadi doktor gigi eh?*
aduh.. gigi saket… ha ha ha
[Reply]
haha. yeah. selain minat design, minat juga pada dentistry. ter-inspired by my own dentist, Dr. Eliza. she’s a very good one. huhu. plus, it makes good money .
kalau SPM > Matrics > degree, selalunya science kan? xpun, economy stuffs (no way!) design tiada kan? heh.

ahaks.. ape maksud SPM -> Die?
dah lame raseyer tak melukis.. huhu..

spm > foundation > degree. yeah!
:)

Wee.. cute drawings!
I actualy love the colours! It’s so.. colourful!
Anyway.. I would suggest SPM > foundation > degree. Like you said, if it’s matrics, there are only science subjects. The scope is very broad. But if you wanna take foundation, you are already narrowing down to things that you wanna do in the future. Kalau rase2 cam da confirm nak ambik ape, then go for foundation. I took foundation too (Foundation in Medical Science). I couldn’t possibly change my course to enginnering, considering medical science has nothing to do with it.
Architecture is so cool!
Btw, why not go for medicine?
[Reply]
Haha tiru idea orang, buat sketch! =PPP Hehe anyway, I think Matric or Foundation are both okay. Matric is a common path though slightly like… membazir, to me, if you already know what you want to do. (Eg. if I know I’ll be doing Architecture, what the heck will I be doing learning Bio and everything again in Matric? =S ) Dentistry seems a little out of left-field if you’re interested in design… (Unless — design gigi orang? ^^) Just take whichever path you think you’ll be able to follow for the rest of your life, with your sanity and happiness (more or less) intact. :)
P.S. You’re good at drawing the girl’s top, fashion design not on the list ke?
[Reply]
go for SPM > Foundation > Degree.. take up something cooler than design and then learn design independently..
my friends who are now doing design were doing accounting and engineering back in Univ..
my friends who were in the same design course as mine? all ended up with customer service!
[Reply]
those are great arts! i really want to learn scetch!!! believe me, you do awesome job on both ofthem!

itu maksudnya… pegi mam***!
Mira:
why not go for medicine? I’m a lazy ass. I can never see myself studying for the whole night. Based on my experiences, I usually end up producing a sketch.
Aneesah:
hehe. memang intend to tiru pun. Haha! well, fashion is supposed to be on the list but… I’ve already scratched that out, for some reasons. hint: my parents. It’s quite a waste considering that’s what I’m good at the most. At least, I think so.
Wanie:
heh. how come they are now doing design? well, some people say, to do art, you need no degree. :p
Brenda:
hehe… thanks brenda.

Hey, I like the colorings =]
And about the comment on my page, do you have any idea why that is? It appears on ALL of my layouts..
[Reply]
i actually agree with waniee.
in my opinion, those computer stuff, you can learn them on your own. Take other course for degree, and leave designing as a personal+special+extra skill. :)
[Reply]
WOW THAT IS ONE FREAKING GOOD SKETCH.
Trust me.
You have the fucking talent.
And uh…
COLOURING???
Pmsl.
Me never liked a colouring, even when I was a kid.
Sharpening the colour pencils is torture.
Seriously.
That’s the main reason why.

well, If I were to take graphics stuffs, I won’t be doing webdesign for a living. I prefer prints or tv ads. or brands packaging.

what’s the point of taking engineering/accounting if they are designing full time? sure, after the next 3 years, they might want to go back to engineering but by then, their skills/knowledge in engineering could probably affected. It might then be harder for them to get a job due to the long idle. plus, there are a lot of competitors out there. but I’m not saying that they cant get a job at all, just have to work harder la. well, evryone has to.

What are you talking about? The sketch is amazing. I can’t even draw a simple object to save my life. Haha.
[Reply]
the sketch was drawn from a picture. hah! there you go! except for the wings and her clothing. and her hair.
[Reply]
Man, those little colorings were the shxt! Lol, i seriously like them =]
I’m too embarrassed to share my interpretations of the sketch =| but I’ll says this much, at least in your sketch, you have a background, I NEVER place backgrounds in my sketched with people anymore. It annoys me =]
[Reply]
Oh my gosh! That looks awesome!!! =) I LOVE the coloring also!

nice…just like my youngest brother…haahhaha…jusk kidding..erm..welcome back..are this is your new domain..

There are so many things that I can see from the sketch. But I don’t know how to express it. It involves feelings.
I also think that you are still searching for your ultimate goal. its not specific enough. But its okay .. must start from somewhere right?
[Reply]
Kau lukis je apa-apa. Lawa ke tidak, kita peduli apa kan… Tapi yang penting kene sedia menerima sebarang kritikan dan cadangan yang diberikan.
[Reply]
this may not apply to everyone. but when you learn something like ‘art’ the conservative way (ie: syllabus and what not), your creativity tend to slack. and finally you’d lose interest in what you thought was your ultimate passion. im not only talking about design, or fine art.. im also talking about music.. i mean, art is something so subjective that when you start learning it the proper way, you get stuck.
u were saying pasal engineering tu kan and i think.. engineering courses will teach you to be more discipline which in a lot of cases, art/design students don’t possess. engineering will also help you if you intend to get into programming. my dad graduated in chemical engineering, worked in shell for 2 years bancuh2 minyak and stuff, and then later pursued into construction business. he said his engineering knowledge tu helped him a lot. whether directly or indirectly.
anyways i think if you learn something for knowledge to use in a lifetime rather than just to sit for exams, it wont be a problem if let say one day, u wanna go back to engineering.. or u wanna use the knowledge u had with engineering for some other stuff likee opening an architecture firm!
hahaha!

i suggest these:
spm-> degree or spm->diploma->degree.
matric doesnt help much really. apart from that, you’ll easily get bored with study. matric is basically a kind of foundation learning. even in your first year (degree), you’ll having a foundation too! Again! da… so, dont waste so much time on doing a same thing over and over again.. =)
all the best!
nono’s last blog post..i really want to buy and read his book!
