What is Happiness?
I believe, that we, as human seek happiness in our lives. But, what is happiness? Well, at least, to you. Everyone has different definitions of happiness.
I’m now asking you. What is eternal happiness? What can make you happy, forever, even until your last breath, even when bad things happen around you. Is that even possible?
It is.
Depending on your definition of happiness. To some, happiness is to be able to be with your loved ones. Some says, to be free from financial anxiety, and some says, to be able to get what we want.
But none of the above are eternal. Everything that I’ve mentioned up there is temporary. They are all what you can find in this world. Nothing in this world meant to be forever. NOTHING. If you say that to be able to be with your loved ones makes you happy, what if they pass away? Will you still be happy? If money makes you happy, will you be happy if you go bankrupt? If you can’t get what you want, or fail, will you still be happy?
Of course, we can’t tell whether or not we are happy if we have never felt misery.
I used to think that If I were prettier and skinnier, I’d be happier. Or that if I had more money, I’d be happier. Or if I had more guys looking at me, I’d be happier. But now, I realized that everything that I wanted won’t last.
So, what is something eternal that we can love, to make us happy? Why did god give us the ability to love in the first place?
You tell me. 
p.s, Assignments are piling up. Sorry for the lack of updates. I rarely go online these days. Especially to Saffa, I’m really, really sorry.

I believe in one thing, if you push hard on the world, it pushes back on you, but if you touch the world gently, it will then touch you gently in return.. pretty simple, when apply, you’ll find yourself in a place where you’ll be happier looking at life

Kerana ia adalah makanan batin manusia untuk kebahagiaannya,
Tidak ada hiburan batin manusia kelaparan dan terasa kekosongan,
Tidak ada hiburan jangka panjang amatlah bahayanya,
Tapi kalau salah cara berhibur ia lebih lagi merbahaya,
Boleh rosak jiwa, buahnya merosakkan pula akhlak diri dan manusia lainnya,
Jika rosak akhlak ia pula rosak merosakkan pula sesama manusia,
Kalau sudah rosak merosakkan akhlak masyarakat manusia akan jadi huru-hara,
Oleh itu berhati-hatilah mencari hiburan agar kehidupan manusia dapat dijaga dengan mulianya,
Kalau tidak manusia yang akan menerima padahnya,
Hiburan ertinya hendak mencari kepuasan batin manusia,
Samada kepuasan akal, kepuasan nafsu mahupun kepuasan roh atau jiwanya,
Tuhan hanya membenarkan mencari kepuasan akal dan kepuasan jiwanya,
Kepuasan nafsu walaupun ia hiburan tapi diharamkan kerana bahayanya,
Kecuali hiburan nafsu didisiplinkan oleh syariat Tuhan di dalam kehidupannya,
Hiburan akal adalah mencari ilmu melalui membaca, menyelidik dan lain-lainnya,
Samada ilmu yang wajib mahupun ilmu yang sunat, yang diharuskan dibolehkan juga,
Berhibur dengan ilmu boleh jemu dan boleh meletihkan akal manusia,
Hiburannya yang berterusan selepas ada ilmu ia boleh menjadi panduan di dalam kehidupan,
Panduan itu adalah juga hiburan di dalam kehidupan manusia,
Kerana ia boleh menyenangkan kita di dalam berusaha dan tindakan bekerja,
Hiburan menurut akal walaupun termasuk kepuasan batin manusia,
Tapi ia masih belum dikatakan hiburan yang hakiki mengikut Tuhan pencipta,
Hiburan cara akal walaupun dibolehkan,
Hiburan akal tidak mampu membendung hati daripada mendapat ujian dan kesusahan di dalam kehidupan,
Kalau ada bala berat yang menimpa, cita-cita yang gagal, mendapat kesusahan selalu sahaja jiwa derita,
Dia akan gelisah, kecewa mungkin putus asa,
Tidak hairanlah org yang banyak ilmu,bijak dan pandai sakit jiwa,
Bahkan ada juga di kalangan mereka membunuh diri kerana kecewa,
Hiburan mengikut nafsu ia adalah diharamkan kecuali yang disyariatkan,
Kerana bahayanya dahsyat di dalam kehidupan insan,
Akhlak manusia rosak masyarakat manusia huru-hara menggugat keamanan,
Hiburan nafsu amatlah banyaknya,
Seperti melihat perempuan atau gambarnya terutama yang terdedah auratnya,
Pakaian yang menjolok mata yang merangsang nafsu manusia,
Melihat filem-filem lucah yang memberangsang nafsu merosakkan jiwa,
Menonton tarian gelek, daripada perempuan-perempuan yang menggoyangkan badannya,
Semuanya itu boleh menyuburkan nafsu jahat yang membawa perzinaan dan perogolan,
Yang merosakkan keturunan, merosakkan rumahtangga dan membawa pergaduhan,
Hiburan mengikut nafsu pada hakikatnya bukan hiburan,
Di dalam hiburannya ada racun kepada jiwa manusia,
Kerana ia membawa kerisauan, membawa angan-angan, fikiran kacau tidak keruan,
Membawa fikiran tidak tenang selagi kemahuan tidak ditunaikannya,
Akhirnya tidak dapat cara halal dilakukan secara haram yang dilaknat Tuhan,
Ia membawa pula cemburu-mencemburui, benci-membenci, hasad dengki,rebut-merebutkan akhirnya buahnya adalah perbalahan dan pergaduhan kemuncaknya pembunuhan,
Hiburan mengikut nafsu itulah yang telah memusnahkan kehidupan di dunia,
Berbagai-bagai gejala masyarakat berlaku kerananya,
Hilang keamanan, hilang ketenangan yang ada kebimbangan dan ketakutan,
Negara susah rakyat parah, tergugat keselamatan,
Termasuk juga hiburan nafsu melihat atau mendengar lawak jenaka yang keterlaluan,
Melihat atau mendengar ahli-ahli lawak bercakap tidak keruan gelak ketawa terbaha-bahak yang memalukan,
Bercakap terlolong-lolong adakalanya perkataan mencarut tanpa segan silunya diucapkan,
Pelawak-pelawak jiwanya akan mati dan mematikan jiwa para pendengarnya atau ‘client’nya,
Jiwa yang mati lupa Tuhan, jiwa yang mati lupakan mati,jiwa yang mati lupa Hari Pembalasan,
Jiwa yang mati ia selalu lalai dengan Tuhannya
Lalai adalah dibenci Tuhan,
Hiburan yang hakiki adalah hiburan jiwa atau hati,
Hiburan hati sebenarnya banyak sudut dan banyak bidangnya kalau diperhati,
Membaca Al Quran atau mendengar bacaannya yang dihayati menembusi lubuk hati adalah salah satu caranya,
Mengingati Tuhan hingga terasa kasih sayang-Nya, terasa kebesaran-Nya, terasa kuasa-Nya,
Itu semuanya boleh membawa ketenangan jiwa,
Ketenangan jiwa adalah hiburan,
Takutkan Tuhan sebenarnya ada perkara yang tersirat iaitu hiburan,
Takutkan Tuhan menjadikan tidak takut dengan kesusahan kehidupan,
Tidak takut dengan kesusahan dan cabaran kehidupan di situ ada hiburan,
Tidak takut selain Tuhan itu adalah hiburan kalau difikirkan,
Ketakutan selain Tuhan itu adalah membunuh hiburan di dalam jiwa manusia,
Kerana itulah Tuhan berkata yang bermaksud “Ketahuilah ingatkan Tuhan itu menenangkan jiwa”,
Jiwa tenang itu adalah hiburan yang tidak perasan,
Termasuk juga hiburan jiwa mendengar nasyid-nasyid yang merdu dan syahdu,
Senikatanya pula yang menusuk jiwa,
Seperti memuji-muji Tuhan, keampunan Tuhan, nikmat dan rahmat Tuhan kepada insan,
Termasuk memperdengarkan kasih sayang Tuhan, penjaga dan penyelamat insan,
Kasihkan Tuhan juga hiburan kalau dihayati oleh jiwa,
Kasihkan Tuhan adalah rahsia kasih sesama manusia atau insan,
Kasih sesama manusia adalah saluran hiburan bagi jiwa,
Kasihkan manusia terhibur membantunya, terhibur menziarahinya, terhibur menolongnya,
Seterusnya terhibur memaafkannya, terhibur memberi maaf kepadanya,
Rupanya jiwa terhibur boleh menghiburkan jiwa manusia,
Ketenangan jiwa itulah hiburan yang tersembunyi di dalam jiwa,
Orang berhibur bukankah hendak menenangkan dan menyenangkan jiwa?
Takutkan Tuhan menghilangkan takut selain-Nya,
Tidak takut lagi dengan kesusahan-kesusahan dunia,
Tidak takut dengan kesusahan dunia itu adalah hiburan yang tersembunyi pada manusia,
Rasa susah dengan kesusahan dunia jiwa tidak tenang hilanglah hiburan,
Takutkan Tuhan sahaja menghilangkan takut dengan kesusahan dunia,
Bukankah itu hiburan?
Sebagai menutup intipati hiburan manusia ada tiga bahagian,
Hiburan akal, hiburan nafsu, hiburan jiwa,
Ketahanan manusia adalah hiburan jiwanya,
Ketahanan jiwa itulah jati diri manusia,
Hiburan akal dan nafsu merapuhkan kekuatan jiwa,
Jiwa yang rapuh tidak tahan berhadapan dengan ujian dunia,
Carilah hiburan, untuk kepuasan dan kekuatan jiwa,
Kepuasan dan kekuatan jiwa itulah ketahanan diri manusia,
Orang yang selalu menghiburkan nafsunya ketahanan jiwa tidak ada,
Tidak boleh teruji dengan kesusahan,dengan cabaran dan dengan kegagalan,
Apatah lagi ujian-ujian itu besar dan berat ditanggung oleh jiwa,
Jiwa pun gelisah, resah, derita, terseksa, kecewa dan putus asa,
Kerana itulah penghibur-penghibur nafsu selalu sakit jiwa,
Penghibur-penghibur nafsu banyak yang hidup kecewa,
Penghibur-penghibur nafsu ramai yang putus asa,
Mereka-mereka itu ada yang membunuh diri padahal mereka terkenal dan popular,
Penghibur-penghibur nafsu ramai yang rumahtangganya porak-peranda,
Mereka bercerai-berai perkara biasa sudah jadi budaya,
Masih umur muda sudah jadi janda,
Ini bukan hendak mengata ia adalah realiti kehidupan sebahagian mereka,
Berhiburlah ia bukanlah salah,
Tapi berhiburlah dengan jiwa,
Berhibur dengan jiwa mendapat untung dua perkara hiburan dan pahala.

Honestly I think happiness is a decision. You have to decide to be happy in life, you just can’t sit there and expect life to hand you a bunch of roses. Instead of always looking on the bad side and being negative, you have to be optimistic (but still be realistic)
People just think because they exist that they deserve to be happy, no one of us deserves to be happier than the other. Its up to you to reach out and make your life what you want it to be.
Another thing that is so wrong when girls think they need a man to make them happy. Happiness that relies on someone else isn’t going to last, you need to be yourself in order to be happy.

Hi, peace be upon you.
Firstly, nothing lasts forever in this world. And the word “eternity” is extremely overrated. I’ll consider something is eternal if it lasts for a VERY LONG time. Eventually everything ends. The only thing that will lasts forever is the HereAfter.
Secondly, Happiness. I DO think that happiness relates closely to our EXPECTATIONS.. and also OPTIMISTIC thinking.. You’ll be happy for everything exceeding your expectations optimistically.. and accept that “Everything Happens For a Reason”.. Something like “Percaya pada Qada’ n Qadar”

Every human experiences happiness in a different ways. As humans we have something special … ‘free will’, without ‘free will’ will we be happy? Will it matter what happiness is?
There are two ways to experience happiness - use your mind to change your perceptions of reality in order to see that it does fit your requirements about reality, or, stop having requirements about reality – money isn’t everything. The simple reality desires are pleasures and that’s not happiness.
My religious views
I believe, in the idea of eradicating desire(s)( Money, Women( Men in women’s case) etc) to end suffering is happiness.

it is hard to think what happiness really means to me.
it just something that we can’t think by our own mind. something that we ourself don’t even know what the answer. maybe until my life is over i still don’t get the answer. only God knows it.
by the way,i do agree with MK and paes. love Allah because it is last forever. believe that what ever happen (qada’ dan qadar) is some kind of path you should go through so you will know what exactly you want in your whole life..

Happiness? I’d try to stay away from that.
It’s a balance in life, today, you feel happy, tomorrow sad, then happy again, then bad. Its a vicious cycle. But that’s life.
Love the loved ones? Unconditional love? At the end of the day, you know whom you feel comfortable being with, they’re definitely not the one you love (physchological ni).

IMO, the ability to love is one of human qualities. If we doesn’t love anyone beside ourself, can we call ourself a ‘Human’?

Happiness has an extremely subjective definition, so what I say about it will be solely my personal interpretation of it
We can derive happiness from things that we desire - such a fulfilling a childhood dream of flying a plane or sitting underneath a veranda overgrown with ivory on a Sunday afternoon reading a novel. But this is what that matters - such happiness depletes quickly, and they can disappear as quickly as how they are derived - like drinking that favourite cup of coffee, your mind will be preoccupied with something else when you’ve finished it. True happiness comes in a different form - something that is truly significant to us, such as helping somebody in need, doing a favour for a friend who’s bedridden, or even vaguely enough, having an epiphany (sudden realisation of great truth) in life.
It’s sad that some people utilise happiness just to mask their inner feelings - that’s not what it is supposed to be. We should not forcefully change our perspective or ourselves just to derive happiness out of something we think is undesirable or uncomfortable. To understand happiness, we have to really appreciate and enjoy it.
I derive happiness from helping others - I don’t want to sound philanthropic or altruistic here, but it will be my great pleasure to help someone if it’s within my personal capabilities. I live by the moral of why make people’s life miserable if you can make them feel better? It doesn’t kill you to make someone’s day :)

you got it right. all those are only for temporary. they wont last long. love to God is eternal. When somebody is always loving Allah, Allah would love them back, and guess what will u got when u r being loved by Allah? anything. Happiness, relaxation, calmness and all the good things. Maybe others cannot see it. Because only that particular person knows bout it. because that is his/her business with God. God can make it all happen within a sec. That is why most people in this universe are worrying so much, aren’t happy with what we have, problems here and there, because most of us forgot why we are being let to live in this world, which is to love Allah. Well, that’s just an opinion.

Wow, that was such a good entry, and yes, I have thought about all of that before, but I’ve never realized how it’s ALL temporary. BUT. I actually agree with Nel’s comment, 100%. Happiness is what you make of it, and as of right now, I can say that I am happy with my life. No, it’s not perfect, and there are DEFINITELY things that could be A LOT better, but I’m happy with what I have. That is what happiness means to me.

That was not a happy time at all. But even in these dark times there were short flashes of happiness. I’m LifeWorker = Psychologist. As long as I go to bed with more brain and more heart than I woke up in the morning, I’m happy. Improving my life and other people’s life = happiness. Standstill = death + desperation. So don’t die before you die!

Happiness is subjective and different for different people. I do however believe that if we keep on trying to find what happiness is consists of, we would never really be happy.
Pernah la satu hari the whole house takleh tido. Housemates kata happiness is finding The One. Chenta Agung katanya. Me being me, pantang if tak keluarkan something yang akan membuatkan diorang geram :P
