This is the freaking last week of holidays!

WTF!

How can I not realize this???!!!! I regret the times I’ve spent procrastinating doing my projects. Then again, that’s what holidays are for; for you to relax, and take your time. Still, after I found out that I have very little time left, I quickly drank my coffee, hoping that I’ll stay up for the day and I shall start doing my next sewing project. I still have 3 fabrics left and I know I can finish them all before the semester starts but I still want to sew more. gaaah! I hate being myself, for wanting to do many things yet I’m glad I do know how to utilize my free time.

There are things I didn’t get to do during my holidays. Things that maybe I’ve forgotten to do. Like, rock climbing, exercise more, join a gym near my house, redesign my blog and continuing my sewing lessons. Oh well, maybe next time then. But atleast I’ve sewed quite a lot (not really) because I might not be able to this next semester break as I’m planning to do my internship, get it over with once and and for all, hope that I won’t screw it up. Ha ha, most likely not. And atleast I’ve also managed to lose a few kilos. I should might as well practice on Autocad as soon as semester starts because I do not want to come to class, forgetting everything, thank god I bought an Autocad book, which is not that easy to follow (ha-ha, boo!).

ANYWAY, before I start working on my next project, let’s see what I’ve done previously. I made them about 3 weeks ago and have since only made one which I haven’t taken pictures of.

Lil miss origami danielle

I was lazy to draft a pattern myself and so I downloaded Danielle pattern and it turns out it takes just as much time to put all the printed pieces together. And I added those origami things on the bodice just to make it looks more interesting and gives the illusion of fuller top.

Rawr, missy, rawr!

I wanted to make a really quick dress so I used a pattern I downloaded a while ago. I couldn’t find the link of the pattern but someone did find the pattern on Russian version of Burdafashion. It took me just 3 hours to get everything done including the finishings but took me another 7 hours just to sew the beads. So much for a quick dress. hahah.  I made a good choice of pattern for the print.

Basic Shirt

What can I say? It’s just a basic shirt. I drafted the pattern myself and I love the fit. The picture definitely doesn’t do justice to my fabulous thighs. Oh well.

Oh, cooked lunch with my bro under my mum’s supervision today. I love cooking with my brother, he’s so bad at it he makes me look like I have special talents for cooking! HAHAHAH and hari ini berjaya masak nasi tanpa mengukur air jadi saya amatlah bangga. Tapi lepas tu lupa nak turn on rice cooker. -_____-”

p.s, I agree, the title is annoying. harharhar.

• fishy shifty and pleated empire polka.

The first garment I made is a super short shift dress. I love the print, I find it cute and complicated, yet still subtle. It’s a pretty print and looks a lil’ ethnic, too. The fabric is really thin so it’s suitable to wear under the hot sun. All in all, it’s a comfy piece of top dress!

I also sewed in some buttons and added pockets shaped like the fish-like print on the fabric.

.. and a lil’ button closure at the back.

Next, is a sweet, romantic and pretty dress. Again, I made the pattern myself from scratch.

As always, I like to mix two things together. And as for this dress I love the juxtaposition of the structured pleats on the bodice and the more soft, flowy silhouette  of the gathered skirt. The initial idea was that it was supposed to be a pleated skirt but the I transferred the pattern wrongly, so I had to compromise and gathered the skirt instead. It was kinda a risk cause it could border to looking maternally. I thought it was gonna be really ugly and I was about to give up and buy a new fabric to start over (typical me) but it’s a RM36-per-metter-cotton, for god’s sake! So, I made it work, and it actually turned out better than the initial design. I had fun doing all the pleating details on the neckline.

I also love the A-shaped silhouette, because it compliments my body. I’m very pleased with the result. I think it looks like it just came out of a store. My sewing skills has improved a lot and I’m so proud of it. Oh, and I actually sewed an invisible zipper at the back only to find out that I didn’t need it at all as the waist is loose and the the neckline is big enough. Oh well, at least I can take it off really fast when I need to, if you know what I mean

Well, at least now I know how to format, install, backup and restore on Mac. hahah. *sedapkan hati sendiri*

Anyhoo, I took some pictures while installing. So, lets see them first, shall we?

Oh, I love the fabric! It almost like splashes of paints in a glance, reminds me Jackson Pollock’s contemporary art, except it’s actually a more abstract form of flower print. heheh. As usual, I use Japanese cotton. The usual price is about RM48 (approx US$14.4) per meter, if I’m not mistaken. I saw this fabric a while ago but when I came back to get it, it wasn’t there. Then, I dug piles of remnant fabrics and found it, only RM30 (approx US$9) 2.6m! Am I lucky or what?

For this particular dress, I used Celestina pattern from Burdastyle website. Much thanks to Eddie for making this possible :p Anyways, I modified the sleeves to be a straight sleeve, and made the hem shorter.The belt is supposed to be tied on the back, but I like it much better in front! hoho.

oh yeah, I now also can take a deep breath of relieve and so do you (maybe) since somebody is generous enough to offer a sponsorship for my blog! Now, moving on.

Today was first day of college! yeay! Most of the classmates had some transformation, mostly new hair. Few gained weight. Me included. hahah. College was weird. Lotsa new faces yet seemed very empty now that Hospitality & Tourism students moved to the new campus.

The first two classes was well… boring. hahah. Then, Meera, Danang, Muiz and I went to the new Taylor’s Lakeside campus to get the limited parking sticker.

We didn’t explore much. Basically just walked through to Architectural building which is not fully completed, probably why we are only moving there in April together with Mass Comm students. Can’t wait for all the shifting completed cause I wanna flirt with cute engineering students! Nah, just kidding. hahah. I actually can’t wait to use the massive library. and courtyard. hoho. Also, another good news is our studios are right beside the parking lot! woooo!

Danang, reading the brochure. The building is obviously not fully completed yet. It’s far too new and foreign. Even Starbucks has not settled from their wheels yet (the red van). heheh. I’ll talk about the new campus later when we all moved there. Hopefully it will be more habitable. :p

I’m so excited for Design Studio 1 subject! Not sure if I’m gonna do well, but, I’m psyched nevertheless! In spite of that, I’m a lil’ frustrated because I don’t get the chance to sew a bubble dress I’ve been longing for, but my mum said that I should concentrate with my studies eventhough I know I could finish it before the lecturers give out assignments. Gagagaga….

I tried out Parallel Desktop 5 and it turns out that it actually integrates both Mac and Windows! Impressive huh? Check out the screenshot above and spot the differences! Well, actually, it’s not too impressive since it lags the computer a lil’ bit. So I guess if I were to use Autocad, maybe I should just boot to windows.

This dress was made from a very high quality cotton, it’s quite thick, very durable yet really soft and comfortable to wear. Very easy to sew too. It has six 1-inch pleats on the front, making the front very lose, and 2 darts were sewn, making the back slightly fitted. An invisible zipper was fitted. I wanted to add side pockets but I didn’t have enough fabrics. Oh, did I mention I made the pattern myself, from scratch?

This is a simple bubble dress I made during my last break, but didn’t have the time to update about it. Made out of Japanese cotton. Modified the bodice based on the coffee dress pattern  but added the bubble skirt and eliminated the front ruffles. I added two pockets at both side of the dress to make it more fun!

This is the dress I made just before the above. It has ruffles on the front, with gathered skirt and back zipper. It uses the same Japanese cotton material, and it’s based on Coffee dress pattern. Although, I altered the skirt to add more volume. :p

Anyhooo, I also did some clothes and shoes inventory and I found clothes that I forgot I had. hahah.  There are two pair of shoes that need gluing. zzzzz…. I also got rid of maybe 3 pairs of shoes. Platforms, gold flats and black platform pumps. Goodbye to them. T_T

Most of my shoes. Randomly sorted. There are two pairs that are not shown cause I thought I lost them but they were actually in one of those shoe boxes. -__-”

Gah! I’m so tired now. I spent the last 2 hours and a half scraping dried 3-secs glue that my sister PURPOSELY splashed on my iMac screen. She made me really angry when she stole my shoe boxes, and now, imagine how angry I was, this is the worst thing she’d ever done! Oh, other than my screen, she also glued my medication bottle on the table.

Nice Aida, NICE.

I can’t believe my eyes. I gave her full access to my iMac, and this is how she repay me? What a bitch. This clearly reminds me of why I cried the second (yes, literally the very second) my mum told me that she was pregnant 8 years ago.

It was a 3-secs glue damn it.

The funny thing is, after I yelled at her really badly, and also beat her ass a few times, (she cried, of course) but 15 minutes later, she bumped into me and actually tried to joke with me and laugh like nothing happened.*SIGHHHHHH*

Kids these days.

p.s, for some reason, I’m not convinced that this’s the worse thing she’d done to me. hmm…

p.p.s, today was also good cause I had a great time with someone watching movie and had chocolate iceblended, rasberry ice blended and Krispy Kreme! fuh! hahah ;D
